Downloading 80 GB game installers, 4K video playlists, or cloud backups during the middle of the day can slow down your household Wi-Fi or consume peak ISP data quotas. With NGS Download Manager’s Advanced Scheduler, you can queue all your heavy downloads during the day, let NGS run them automatically at night (such as 2:00 AM to 7:00 AM), and have your PC automatically go to sleep or shut down when finished.
1. How to Configure the Advanced Scheduler in NGS Download Manager
Follow these simple steps inside NGS Download Manager to automate your overnight queue:
- Click Scheduler in the left WORKSPACE sidebar to open the Advanced Scheduler page.
- Check "Enable scheduler" in the top-right corner of the Recurring download window card.
- Set your Start hour and Start minute using the
-/+steppers (for example,2 h : 00 minto start at 2:00 AM local time). - Set your Pause hour and Pause minute (for example,
7 h : 00 minto safely pause any unfinished items before your workday starts). - Select your active Days (
MonthroughSun), check Night-only downloading, choose Sleep PC or Shut down PC under After all downloads, and click Save schedule!
2. Pre-Flight Disk Space Check Before Overnight Queues
Before you go to sleep, NGS Download Manager ensures your overnight queue won't fail mid-way due to a full hard drive. Whenever you add files to your queue, the Smart Download Dialog background disk probe verifies free space on both your Final file drive and your Temp segment drive.
